EAGLES Academy 2026

What is the Eagles Academy?

The Eagles Academy is a targeted development program designed to strengthen the Redlands Netball Association high performance pathway. It supports emerging athletes who aspire to progress from Redlands Representative netball into Redlands Coast Eagles including the GBNL Emerald, HART Premier League Ruby, and State Titles U16 & U18 teams.

The 8 week program combines on court netball skill development with a comprehensive off court education framework. Athletes participate in sessions focused on:

Technical and tactical skill development

Strength and conditioning tailored for netball

Nutrition for performance and recovery

Mindset, resilience and leadership development

Academy athletes also gain valuable exposure to Eagles Coaching staff, and the expectations of a high performance training environment, helping them build the habits, standards and confidence required to succeed at the next level.

Eligibility

The Eagles Academy is open to:

Athletes who participate in Redlands GBNL teams, and

Athletes recommended by the RNA Representative Coordinator who have competed in Redlands Senior Representative teams but may be unable to participate in Redlands GBNL due to availability, or other circumstances.

This ensures the Academy remains aligned with the Redlands high performance pathway while providing opportunities for talented athletes who are ready for the next stage of development.

Selection Process

Members of the selection panel will attend the GBNL games to observe and assess the athletes.

RNA will work closely with the Eagles to ensure the game times of all RNA nominated athletes are communicated to the selection panel, providing every athlete with an equal opportunity to be observed and assessed throughout the process.

At the conclusion of the selection process, up to 12 athletes will be invited to participate in the Eagles Academy development program.

All successful athletes will need to be able to commit to the below program designed in conjunction with Ruby and Emerald Coaches and Strength and Conditioning coaches.
